IoT Tools Developer

You will develop the software tools, dashboards, and connectivity layers that make IoT devices manageable and useful at scale — from firmware update utilities and device management platforms to protocol bridge services and real-time telemetry dashboards.

• Build device management and OTA update tools for IoT fleet management at scale
• Develop protocol bridge services (MQTT ↔ REST, CoAP ↔ WebSocket)
• Create CLI utilities and SDKs for IoT device configuration, provisioning, and testing
• Build real-time web dashboards for device telemetry visualisation and alerting
• Implement secure device provisioning and PKI certificate management workflows
• Write hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) integration tests for firmware validation

• Python and Node.js for IoT tooling and backend services
• Experience with MQTT, CoAP, or AMQP messaging protocols
• Knowledge of cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, or Google Cloud IoT)
• REST and WebSocket API design and development experience
• Familiarity with Docker for tool containerisation and deployment

• Experience with FOTA (Firmware Over-the-Air) frameworks such as Mender or Balena
• Knowledge of TLS/mTLS and PKI certificate lifecycle management
• Background in embedded C for firmware integration and test harness development

• Build tools used daily by embedded and IoT engineering teams
